MUSCLE THERAPY
Focused on individual care and plan of action, including self-care techniques, to get you back to your life. The approach is through multi-disciplinary modalities including clinical deep tissue massage and integrative muscle therapy to achieve your specific goals. Together, we will discover the root cause of symptoms to assist your body in the healing process by using hands-on techniques that release connective tissue adhesion and restrictions, increase range of motion, and restore overall function
MEDICAL MASSAGE
Medical massage is performed with the intent of improving conditions or pathologies that have been diagnosed by a physician; a wide variety of modalities or procedures are utilized to focus the treatment based on the diagnosed condition.
SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage focuses on increasing blood and lymphatic fluid flow, reducing and eliminating pain as well as tender trigger points, and increasing the range of motion of the affected area. Sports massages can be broken into 4 distinct types – the pre-event sports massage, the post-event sports massage, the restorative sports massage, and the rehabilitative sports massage. As the names indicate, each type of sports massage has a different focus for the athlete as they are delivered at different times during their training and performance schedule.
CLINICAL DEEP TISSUE
Clinical deep-tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. This technique is recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury
INTEGRATIVE MUSCLE THERAPY
Integrative Muscle Therapy uses five styles of muscle therapy. The modality consists of effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber), and vibration/shaking. This combination has been shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function. Muscle therapy ranges from light to firm pressure determined by therapist evaluation and client needs.
ACTIVE ISOLATED STRETCHING
Active Isolated Stretching will help restore full joint movement, decrease tissue soreness and fatigue, increase tissue pliability, and improve posture. Stretching, as well as nutrition, rest and exercise is a daily requirement: muscles shorten, stiffen, or become tense from work, training, posture, gravity, or stress.
FASCIA STRETCH (YOGA)
Fascia Stretch (Yoga)
Fascia stretch therapy is the new buzzword for the most ancient form of healing and recovery for the body, YOGA! This form of body therapy is focused on resistance stretching for postural changes, increased range of movement, and corrections to chronic conditions resulting from dense fascia restrictions. Fascia stretch (yoga) results in flexibility of muscles, allows normal bone rotational relationship and improves mobility by focusing on the fascial lines that connect through and around muscles, nerves, and organs. Eliminating fascia restrictions and scar tissue within the myofascial structures becomes the catalyst for tissue recovery and pain management.
“Shelley, you are amazing and are filling a huge void in the alternative medical field. Within minutes you determined my long-standing issue and offered a regime to repeat at home. It worked beautifully!
For those suffering from pain or illness, I strongly recommend you meet with Shelley before resorting to traditional medical practices that simply address the symptoms. She is extremely knowledgeable and is focused on the root cause!”
Peggy – Business Owner, Arkansas
“There actually aren’t enough stars for me to give Shelley! She is AMAZING. I have worked with chiropractors, physical therapists, and massage therapists of all types including relaxation and sports, and have not solved the issues with my neck and shoulder. After just TWO weeks of sessions with Shelley, I am healing and almost completely pain-free which is a tall order since I am an aerobics instructor and constantly tightening up those same areas. WOW!!!”
